Apple’s current iPhone 5 model remains one of the most popular smartphone models on the market. Despite the fact that a number of rival manufacturers have launched some impressive devices in recent months, the iPhone 5 remains one of the best selling smartphones available.
Of course, given the fact that the iPhone 5 has now been on the market for a number of months, coupled with its commercial success, it comes as no surprise that there has been plenty of speculation about the next version of the handset in recent months. In recent weeks, there has been a lot of speculation that Apple will be launching as many as three new iPhone models this year, including an upgraded iPhone 5S model, a budget iPhone model and an iPhone 6. However, more recently there has been an increasing amount of speculation that some of these models may not be launched this year.
GottaBeMobile has recently reported that a Citibank Capital Markets analyst called Glen Yeung has released a statement that the iPhone 6 is highly unlikely to be launched in 2013. This is not the first time that a high profile industry analyst has suggested that this will be the case. Visit our website for the best iPhone 5 deals and cheap iPhone 4S offers.
Of course, Apple is yet to officially announce this device, so the reason for this cannot be confirmed. However, it has recently been cited that supply chain issues, component shortages and increasingly impressive competition could all be contributing factors. Furthermore, the release schedule of the latest iPhone models has been far from consistent ever since the company has been under the control of Tim Cook.
Much speculation suggested that the iPhone 6 will be Apple’s first attempt at a phablet smartphone, to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which remains a market leader in the increasingly popular phablet niche, so is fully expected to have a larger screen than current and previous iPhone models.
In the coming weeks, we can expect more information about the iPhone 6 and other new iPhone models to be revealed, so we will be sure to report back with the latest updates.
