We have heard numerous rumours lately relating to the iPhone 6, the new flagship smartphone from Apple and also the iPhone 5S, a new device aimed at a more budget end of the smartphone market. It was widely predicted that we may see both of these handset before the year is out but reported supply problems looks to have made a considerable impact on the release date for these models.iphone 6

It is reported that Apple are set to unleash two new smartphones over the coming months. The iPhone 6 is believed to be the new premium model while the American company will also release the iPhone 5S, a model aimed firmly at consumers seeking a cheaper priced device. A leading analyst has now reported that supply issues have had a big effect on the proposed launch date of these devices. Peter Misek from Jeffries has reported that we are unlikely to see the new iPhone 6 until next year. The iPhone 5S is set to get an earlier release date, possibly in Q4 this year. This is however much later than the anticipated summer launch we were expecting.

What is interesting about Mr Misek’s comments is that he is the second industry expert in recent weeks to state that are are facing problems with the production of new devices. In an interview with Streetinsider he commented that the “iPhone 5S is having preproduction issues with mass production at least a month or more away. This combined with the publicly discussed delay of iOS 7 puts July availability at risk”. Following this he spoke of the iPhone 6 and how there was little chance of the model making it to market before the end of the year. Things are not looking much better for other Apple products. We were expecting a new Retina version of the iPad Mini to launch soon but this also looks likely to be released later in the year following problems with the new screen technology that it will utilise.

Apple fans looks likely to have to wait longer than expected before they can get their hands on the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S. Production and supply issues looks to have severely delayed the launch of both of these new models.
