Despite the recent launch of a number of notable competitors, the Apple iPhone 5 remains one of the most popular smartphone models on the market. However, it has now been available for several months, which has naturally led to plenty of speculation about its follow up device.

In recent weeks, there has been an increasing amount of speculation regarding what Apple has in store for 2013 with its iconic smartphones series. A number of prominent industry analysts and other credible sources have suggested that Apple is likely to begin production of an iPhone 6 shortly. USwitch has recently reported that this is likely to be the case, following news that Foxconn, Apple’s Chinese manufacturing partner is currently holding a recruitment drive to employ an additional 10,000 workers at its production plants. The website reports that this news comes by way of the Wall Street Journal. This is of course one of the biggest business publications in the world, and given the importance of Apple as a company in terms of its share prices, this is certainly a very credible source. The website has also reported that an unnamed executive at Foxconn has confirmed that the new recruitment drive is indeed in preparation for the imminent production of seventh generation iPhone model.

Of course, Apple is yet to officially announce its next iPhone, but recent speculation has suggested that the device is likely to come with a similar 5 inch retina display to the current iPhone 5 model, and it is also believed to including improved 12 megapixel camera, and more powerful A7 processor.

It is likely that more information about production of the next iPhone model will be revealed in the coming weeks, so as usual we will keep you posted with all the latest news, rumours and updates.
